This flexibility allows you access to a top-quality yoga program.

As far as yoga teacher trainings go, we are super organized. Our structured platform gives you the mental freedom to learn and grow.

Pause and replay

The larger yoga community

Ever wish you could pause or rewind something you learned?  Now you can!  If you enjoyed a particular lesson or need to hear something again, replay it. If you have maximized the amount of information you can absorb for the day, pause it and come back later. The option to move at your own pace allows for greater comprehension and results in more confident teachers.

One of the greatest benefits of yoga teacher training is the community that you create during the program.  With a hybrid program, those community borders are expanded.  Connect with like-minded yogis from all over the Maryland, DC, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and surrounding areas; your friendships will be long lasting, and you’ll expand your reach for future professional yoga endeavors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What style of yoga is your teacher training program?

red lila School of Yoga is a Vinyasa-based yoga school. We do not give you a script of how to teach - we provide you with structure and tools for smart sequencing so you can learn how to craft effective and inspiring yoga classes. The day after graduation, you are ready to confidently teach to all-levels.

Q2. What if I do not want to be a yoga teacher?

Everyone in the training will be deepening their own practice. Our 200-hour training fits great for those who only want to delve deeper into the study of yoga. The teaching skills you learn in Teacher Training will directly impact your personal and professional life in the most positive ways possible.

Q3. I am interested in the payment plan. How does that work?

Yoga Teacher Training is an incredible experience and we want to help as much as possible. After you complete your online registration with your $500 deposit, we will message you regarding your remaining tuition and how you would like that to be complete each month. Your monthly tuition payments are completely customizable. We ask that the final payment is due one month before your last day of training, though we are open to exceptions.

Q4. How proficient do I have to be in yoga to do the 200 hour?

We ask that you have had a minimum of 6 months of a consistent yoga practice before enrolling into YTT.

Quite frankly, this is one of the most frequently asked questions potential trainees ask us. Many potential students are concerned that their practice may not be as good as other's in the training, or worried that not being able to do a handstand means they can't be a yoga teacher yet. We understand and want you to know that 90% of the other trainees are thinking about this, too. If this is you, trust us that once you get there and meet the rest of your Teacher Training family, you'll see you are right where you should be.

Q5. Outside of the required in-person hours, how many hours per week will I spend on YTT work and assignments?

In-Person YTT: trainees report around 2 hours per week of additional time for the YTT program including reading assignments and practice teaching.

Virtual YTT: half of the program is LIVE during Zoom Sessions with your teachers and your YTT group. The other half of the program includes pre-recorded videos that you complete on your own time, anywhere. For Virtual YTT, you can expect 7 hours per week of work done on your own time -- this work can be done anytime and any day of the week. With our deadlines and structure, our Virtual YTT students find this amount of work to be accessible, and not daunting as it may sound.

Hybrid YTT: Almost half of the program is either live online or in-person. The other half of the program includes self-paced online learning such as pre-recorded videos, readings, reflections, and reviews that you complete on your own time. You can expect 7 hours per week of work done on your own time -- this work can be done any time of the day and any day of the week. With our deadlines, and intentional structure, our Hybrid YTT students find this amount of work to be accessible, and not daunting as it may sound.

Q6. How many people can I expect to have in my Teacher Training class?

We can accept up to 24 students into the program. In order for the learning to be effective, we want to make sure it's also personalized with individual attention.

Q7. Can I still do the training even if I can't make some of the hours?

Because this program is a certification course, there are specific hours to complete and curriculum to learn. We ask all trainees attend 100% of the required hours. If you are unable to attend specific hours of the program due to non-negotiable personal or professional obligations that require your attendance, then please contact us before enrolling so we can discuss this with you. All missed hours will be required to make-up.

Q8. What is your make-up policy?

For in-person training, there are three options for make-up hours:

  • Option 1: Group make-up sessions.
  • Option 2: Schedule a private session with one of the teachers.
  • Option 3: Join the next YTT training hours. We offer our 200 hour program two times per year.

For online training: make-up hours are done by completing the recorded LIVE sessions that you missed, along with a short written assignment to ensure your understanding of that content.

For hybrid training: depending if you missed online hours or in-person hours, will depend on how you can make-up the hours you have missed. In your registration application, please include the days and hours you will have to miss so we can discuss these make-up options with you, or send us an email before you register.

Q9. Once I complete my training, what is next? Will I be qualified to teach yoga classes?

Your formal graduation is on the last day of Teacher Training! Following, you can immedaitely begin teaching yoga classes with your 200-hour certification. As a yoga school, we feel responsible to keep strong community and national connections so you can obtain the opportunity you're looking for. We pride ourselves on our strong networks to help launch your new path of teaching. Many trainees have been offered opportunities to teach by gyms, companies, and studios as soon as their training is complete - and in many cases before their graduation! Trainees feel confident teaching from their extensive training and our unique Business of Yoga curriculum.

Q10. How do I register for the training?

You can sign up online. We have an easy registration process using our online form: Click here! Once we receive your online registration form with your $500 deposit, we will send you your acceptance to the program, an email for how to complete your tuition or set-up your payment plan, and your "200-Hour YTT Program Guide."
